Exemption from self-quarantine duty for overseas arrivals from March 21st

Demand for overseas travel is surging as the government has decided to waive self-quarantine obligations for overseas travelers who have been vaccinated from the 21st.

According to the travel industry, for three days from the 11th to the 13th, when the government announced the quarantine exemption, the number of overseas ticket reservations for Interpark Tour jumped 281% from the same period last month and 873% from the same period last year, respectively.

The market share by overseas air routes booked from the 11th to the 13th was 39.1% in the Americas, 31.5% in Europe, and 18.9% in Southeast Asia.

Korean Air said it would suspend flights to Russia and use a detour route for routes to Europe and the eastern United States that pass through Russian airspace.

Asiana Airlines also announced that it would bypass Russian airspace and bypass flights to Europe and the eastern United States.

Accordingly, the flight time for European flights will be increased from 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours 45 minutes one way, and the US route will be increased by about 1 hour.
