[Corona update on January 13th] PCR for entry into Korea 72 => shortened by 48 hours

I'm informing you as follows.

We will inform you of the strengthening of quarantine regulations as overseas entrants spread COVID-19 in Korea.

When you enter Korea from abroad,
You must submit a PCR negative confirmation within 72 hours of boarding => 48 hours of inspection.

- Quarantine regulations.
▶ All passengers (domestic/foreigners) entering the country submit a PCR voice confirmation within 48 hours of departure date.
◇ The criteria for issuing PCR voice confirmation will be strengthened step by step.

- "You must submit a negative confirmation within 72 hours (3 days) of departure date from the entrant at 0 o'clock on January 13, 22, and

- "From 0 o'clock on January 20, visitors must submit a voice confirmation within 48 hours (2 days) of the departure date.

e.g.) If you depart at 02:00 on 22.22 (Saturday), only PCR negative confirmation that was confirmed to have been inspected after 00:00 on 22.1.20 (Thursday) is recognized.

☞ Inspection method: Inspection based on NAATs technique (RT-PCR, LAMP, TMA, SDA, NEAR, etc.)
☞ Exception:
1) Infants and toddlers under the age of 6 (as of the date of entry) (when all of their companions have submitted a negative confirmation)
2) Person who holds an exemption from quarantine for the purpose of humanitarian (participating in funeral) and public service business trips.
☞ Required entry: Name (same date of passport), date of birth (or passport number, ID number replaceable), inspection method, inspection date.
Inspection results, issuance date, and name of the inspection agency must be written.
☞ Test result: "negative"
☞ Principle of issuing Korean or English related to the inspection method item.
☞ If PCR quarantine documents are issued online, make sure to print them and submit them in person.
☞ (Before entering the country) If a person who does not have a PCR voice confirmation letter or has a voice confirmation letter that does not meet the standards, he/she is not allowed to board the aircraft.
☞ When submitting a PCR voice confirmation that falls short of the standard (after entering the country),
Koreans are quarantined for 5 days at a facility designated by the government (120,000 won for admission/day burden principle)
Self-quarantine for 5 days. (Foreigners are not allowed to enter the country)

- Regarding quarantine exemption (as of January 13th)
Due to the prevention of the spread of COVID-19 among overseas entrants, quarantine exemption is currently suspended until February 3, 2022 (Thurs). **
